Chocolate cookies in a jar

I am partial, I know, but I deeply love edible gifts: there is so much love, time and care involved that they are really my favorites 😉

Today’s recipe is for your friends that really appreciate homemade healthy food but do not have tons of time to cook or they have very basic knowledge about how to cook. It will take you less than 20 minutes to prepare and it will take them 20 minutes total to enjoy chewy and chocolaty homemade cookies!!

You will just need few baking ingredients, a mason jar and some Christmas decorations to embellish your gift. The cookie recipe that I’ve chosen is a traditional one fool proof 😉 The red and green m&ms are a must!

Here you are the ingredients for 24 bite size cookies:

The procedure is very simple. Just prepare all the ingredients and take a mason jar (the big one, 1 quart or 1 litre).

Start filling the jar with the ingredients starting from the cane sugar.

On top of it add the flour, the baking soda and the baking powder. Press them with a tablespoon so that all the ingredients will fit. Than add the m&ms, the oats and finish with the white chocolate.

Close with a lid and decorate the jar with a ribbon or something Christmasy.

Add a nice handwritten tag with the instructions on how to prepare the cookies. Here you are the text:

“Place in a big bowl 1 stick of melted butter, 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Whisk. Add the cookie mix from the jar. Mix with a fork at first and keep going with your hands. You will obtain a doughy mix. With your hands create small balls and place them on a parchment paper on a baking sheet. Bake the cookies in the oven at 400F/180C for 15 minutes. Enjoy!!”

You really do not need to wrap the jar, it’s simply beautiful like it is 😉
